A few words about the gîte
Set in the midst of orchards, Mas Puig is the ideal place to get together with friends, family or colleagues for an event, holiday, meeting or seminar (maximum 11 people). The living spaces are designed to encourage conviviality, with bright, airy rooms and sunny, furnished outdoor areas.
The 4-star house is fully equipped for maximum functionality, so all you have to do is put your suitcases down and feel at home: American fridge with ice cube dispenser and fresh water, dishwasher, capsule coffee machine, laundry room with washing machine, central steam unit, all the rooms are air-conditioned with silent ducting, fibre-optic wifi throughout the house and each bedroom has its own private bathroom and toilet.
The large garden is perfect for children to play in, while adults can soak up the sun by the pool.
Dans ce coin de paradis, loin des bruits de la ville, nul besoin de sortir la voiture : vous pourrez directement partir pour tous types de randos, car vous serez au coeur de la nature (nombreuses pistes cyclables jusqu’à la plage). After a day of walking or mountain biking, you can relax in the swimming pool.
The region in a nutshell
The sea and sandy beaches are just 8 km away (Argelès sur mer), while Collioure and the superb coves of the Côte Rocheuse are just 15 km away!
The magnificent Albères massif offers miles of hiking, climbing and cycling opportunities, and we’re less than 5 km from the departure points.
Horse-riding, golf, go-karting, gliding, microlighting, paragliding, hang-gliding, parasailing, adventure parks – all these activities are within easy reach.
Romanesque and pre-Romanesque art lovers should not miss the Cloister of Saint Génis des Fontaines and the lintel of its church, dated in stone to the 11th century, the cathedral and cloister of Elne, the abbey of Saint Martin du Canigou, the priories of Serrabone and Marcevol, the church of St-Pierre in Prades, and so on.
The fortress of Salses, Villefranche de Conflent and its Fort Libéria, and the watchtowers of Madeloc and La Massane are all outstanding examples of military architecture designed by Sébastien Vauban.
The Cathar castles of Peyrepertuse and Quéribus are just an hour’s drive away.
Take a few hours to stroll through the pedestrian streets of Perpignan, capital of the ancient kingdom of Mallorca, and discover some of its secrets…
Céret is also a must-see, with its modern art museum and numerous galleries, not to mention its archaeological museum and lively fiestas (feria and fiesta de San Ferréol).
And let’s not forget Collioure, the must-see village on the Côte Rocheuse, immortalised by many painters including Picasso, Derain and Matisse. You’ll love its castle, its history and its entertainment (art galleries, Saint-Vincent festival).
and what else?
The little yellow train, a link between the Haut Conflent and the Plateau Cerdan, runs between Villefranche de Conflent and Latour de Carol.
Spain is just 17 km away, and you’ll discover typical villages such as Cadaquès, Callella and Tossa del Mar, not forgetting Gerona and Figueres and its Dali museum. Don’t hesitate to ask us for our restaurant addresses where you can try their fish dishes, paella, zarzuela, parillada, etc.
